History Is History 2015

There’s something literally transformative about an object that goes unnoticed by digging instruments and professional speculation once it is un-Earthed unexpected.

This intersitital moment of value attribution is something that I tried to recreate.

What you see is a construction of a viewing pit that is trapped (like a photograph) in a stage of un-Earthing that allows the viewer, with the use of a step stool, to view the piece from above.

By doing this, the viewer then enters the work, becoming the vessel now in which value is injected into the piece. Inside they will see ceramic hand built cinderblocks that are semi-buried.
